Google Apps Sync will break Microsoft Outlook search

The Google apps new Apps synchronize product, which allows all users to synchronize with Microsoft Exchange with things like Gmail and Google Calendar,will disable Windows Desktop Search's ability to search through Outlook data.

When the Google Apps all users installs the sync plug in for Outlook, then plug in update and then automatic change the registry key which disables Windows Desktop Search from serial wise and provide search facility for all Outlook data, it is not only the Outlook data being synchronized from GMail. Because Outlook search and analyze the indexing performed by Windows Desktop Search, Outlook search functionality are split as a result. It is also very necessary to note that uninstalling the plug in may not fix the issue.

The blog outlines a some points process for resolving the problem though it requires going into our computer's registry index and manually changing the data. Microsoft and Google say they are working together to remedy the problem. Google has posted a bulletin on its Enterprise blog.
